All animals are priced individually based upon their conformation and desirable physical traits. Exceptional quality is reflected in the pricing.
We accept payment via cash, personal check, or Paypal. If payment is to be made by personal check, the goat(s) will be placed on hold until the check clears. At which time, a pick-up/delivery date will be scheduled.
Payment must be made in full prior to the scheduled pick-up/delivery date and receiving a Bill of Sale for transfer of ownership from Crooked Horn Farm to the buyer. All completed sales are final.
Goats may be placed in reserve (most common for kids not yet weaned) with a $50 per animal non-refundable deposit (remaining payment to be made in full prior to pick-up/delivery date).
A pick-up/delivery date shall be scheduled for no more than 10 days post weaning or post selection date. Failure to take ownership of the goat on or before the scheduled date or cancellation of the agreement by the buyer will result in one or all of the following actions at CHF discretion:
Crooked Horn Farm (CHF) reserves the right to cancel any sale. If this action is taken by CHF, all deposits and payments shall be returned to the buyer in full.
If you are interested in purchasing a wether, we do offer castration of bucklings between 12 weeks and16 weeks of age. You will be required to notify us of your wishes at the time of selection, and payment will be required in full prior to castration being performed.
We do offer delivery of purchased animals within the state of Virginia. A delivery must be requested at the time of purchase and a delivery fee of $50 or $0.45/mi (round trip) whichever is GREATER will be added to the transaction which must be paid in full prior to the animal being delivered. Deliveries will only be made when the weather permits safe transport due to road conditions or low risk to the animal's health. Should the buyer refuse to take ownership of the animal upon delivery, Crooked Horn Farm agrees to refund the purchase price of the animal, but the buyer forfeits the delivery charge.
To avoid the extra expense of delivery, we highly recommend scheduling a pick-up of your new goat and are happy to accommodate you. Buyers choosing to pick-up their animal(s) are responsible for that animal's comfort and safety during transport to their new home. We retain the right to refuse sale or to allow transportation should we have concerns over the animal's health or safety. If you are unsure about transporting your goat, please feel free to contact us to discuss recommendations and other options available to you.
If you are an out-of-state buyer, please be aware that special permitting may be required to import livestock into that state or to cross multiple state lines. Other documentation such as veterinary certificates may also be required. It shall be the buyer's responsibility to arrange for any such documentation to be acquired and to ensure that all requirements are met to lawfully transport your goat out of the state of Virginia and across state lines into your home state prior to pick up. CHF may provide Veterinary Certificate of Inspection upon request at cost to the buyer.
