Caleb has made a fantastic addition to our farm. We purchased him in October of 2023 for breeding on the same day as a much smaller buckling nicknamed "David", hence Caleb's nickname, you guessed it, "Goliath". Despite his large frame, Caleb is a gentle giant getting along smoothly with all his field mates. He is inquisitive and often follows us around as we do our daily feedings and chores around the goat barn, hence all the close-up photos on our site. He will be siring his first crop of kids for us in the fall of 2024. We are excited to know that his kids will be as handsome as he is.

A gentler soul you will not find than our little GT..... I mean David....... I mean Samson. I guess that's what you get when you are the party favorite. He was named "Gypsy's Toy" because of his small stature and after his guardian (a Karakachan LGD named Gypsy). Well, we purchased him in October of 2023 at the same time as Caleb (a.k.a Goliath). So that explains the David. Finally, in January of 2024 we had some vet students out to the farm for a routine health check and one of the students thought he "looked like a Samson." So, it will depend upon who you are speaking with as to which name this little buck receives, but in any case, his very friendly demeanor and desire to be by your side is more reminiscent of a house cat than of a breeding buck.

This buck was affectionately named "Bucky" by my kids during his short stay with us. He was loaned to us from Beechkeld Farm during the fall 2023 breeding season and is the sire of the kids born in the spring of 2024. A well-mannered little buck, Bucky was an entertaining visitor, and gave us some beautiful kids.

Jerry was originally scheduled to be sold, but due to rather extreme and unfortunate circumstances, his buyer and new owner had to cancel the purchase after losing everything she owned in a house fire. Despite her unbelievable hardship, she apologized to me for not being able to take him! I assured her that our goat was the least of her concerns and we offered her our prayers.
This was also unfortunate for us though, because she had requested him to be castrated. His hair is crazy soft and even a touch curly (although you can't tell from this photo having been taken running into the shelter during a winter rainstorm). He has a solid frame and would make a great companion. We keep him and his brother for just that purpose if/when another herd-mate needs rehabilitation from an illness or injury. He is currently not for sale but his status may change.

So, this is Jerry's brother who also has stayed with us due to the fire. It is even harder to swallow that we are not able to breed him as I love his coloration. The black is so active against the white, but he too makes an excellent companion animal and may come up for sale in the future.
