One of our original three does to join us on Crooked Horn Farm, Mable has been the steady Eddie of all of them. She has a great temperament, is a devoted and caring mother (consistent twins) and just goes with the flow of daily life.

Mildred, a.k.a "Big Mamma" is the boss lady of our herd. Although she uses her status to claim first dibbs at the feed troughs and hay bales, she practically melts into your hand as she leans in for her morning "scratchin." She consistently drops big robust kids that are quick to thrive making her an invaluable animal to have on our farm.

Smokey was one of the first crop of kids to be born on Crooked Horn farm. She started out rather skiddish of us, but has since come around and is a very sweet and curious girl, always checking to see if you have a treat for her. Her mother had blue eyes and we are hopeful that her future offspring will one day express the same trait.

Sugar is a fine example of Mildred's robust offspring. She has great structure and is a very hardy gal. As 2nd in command of the herd, her future kids are likely to follow the same physical characteristics as their mother.

She's #1! Literally, the first kid to ever be born at Crooked Horn Farm. Of course, her mother, Mable, chose that random 10-degree spring day in the middle of a 50-degree week to drop her in the middle of the field while I was taking my kids to school. We took turns as a family sitting in the garage with heat lamps and dry towels rubbing her to warm her up. It's no wonder that she quickly became my favorite and receives a little more attention than the others (shhhhh......don't tell them that)
Crooked Horn Farm is still a budding enterprise and we are not done growing. Our hope is that the 2024 kidding season will go smoothly and find all of our ladies to be happy healthy mothers of happy healthy kids. We intend to grow our base herd by another 5 does if we should be so fortunate. All remaining kids will be placed up for sale and may be found on our For Sale page.
